We use to do this in Middle School and High School with our binders. You can organize your notes into subjects and group subjects into binders. Some other features that I really like include: Imagine all the time that could be saved by just snapping a picture of the slide and inserting into a document – we can finally listen! And I think Notability can make this happen. As my lovely wife worked frantically to write down some quotes, all I had to do was take a picture of it and then listen. Then I found that you could change the pen size which made writing much quicker and easier to read. All I had to do was take a picture of the slide and then jot down little tidbits from what Keith said. That saved me so much time! I didn’t have to write down notes from the slides. It isn’t going to well so I start pushing buttons and I find that I can take a picture and insert it directly into my document. I pull out my Portico Pen that is also a Stylus and I start to handwrite some of my notes. So I search on iPad for something to use and I come by Notability and I thought, “Well, I got nothing to lose.” I could not take notes on my laptop nor could I use my bluetooth-keyboard for my iPad (I tried it once, I kept dropping my iPad and making a ruckus…not worth it). My Macbook puts out a tremendous amount of heat as it should – it is 5 years old now! So I was stuck. If I was to use my laptop as a LAP-top, I would have some nice-red-marks on my legs.

I was happy, well, till we go into the space and there are no desks and no power outlets. The topic was on Social Media and the speaker, Keith Anderson, encouraged us to use different social media sites and technology throughout his presentation. It is called First Call Theological Education. I was at a conference for pastors who have been serving for less than three years. Then necessity dictated that I try to use this app once again. I could not, for the life of me, get it to work the way I thought it should work. So I got it, but it sat on my iPad for weeks. I was not thrilled to have to pay three dollars for an app, but it looked neat.

So I sent him an email later that day asking for the name and he told it was Notability. So I was sitting at a lectionary study and my Dean was using this interesting app to take notes.
